NCTC’s Summer Stages PERFORMANCE gives kids, ages 8-16, the opportunity to learn and strengthen their musical theatre skills, culminating in public performances. Everyone enrolled is cast in the production! Sessions run Monday-Friday, 9am-4pm, with performances on the weekends. Payment plans and before and after care available. Performances are Friday and Saturday at 7pm and Saturday and Sunday at 2pm. Session fees vary. $100 non-refundable/non-transferable deposit is due upon registration. The full payment is due by the first day of the program. Everyone receives a free cast t-shirt!
Summer Stages IN PERFORMANCE gives kids, ages 5-7, the opportunity to get in the act! Throughout the session, kids will learn blocking (movement), choreography and music in preparation to become part of the ensemble of the corresponding Summer Stages production. Sessions run Monday – Friday, 9am-12pm, with performances on the weekends. Session fee: $150. $75 non-refundable/non-transferable deposit is due upon registration. Session One: Jungle Book Kids
June 25-July 1, 2018
Banished by the ferocious tiger, Shere Khan, a human boy named Mowgli and his panther friend, Bagheera, are on the run in the deepest parts of the jungle. On their journey, the two meet a sinister snake named Kaa, a herd of elephants and a giant bear named Baloo, who teaches them the swingin’ musical rhythms of the jungle. After surviving a dangerous encounter with a band of monkeys led by King Louie, Mowgli and Bagheera are forced to run for their lives. When Shere Khan returns, our heroes must rally their fellow animals into battle and restore peace throughout the jungle.

Travel down the rabbit hole and join Alice, one of literature’s most beloved heroines, in her madcap adventures. Featuring updated songs from Disney’s thrilling animated motion picture, Disney’s Alice in Wonderland JR. is a fast-paced take on the classic tale.The ever-curious Alice’s journey begins innocently enough as she chases the White Rabbit. Her adventures become increasingly more strange as she races the Dodo Bird, gets tied up with Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum, raps with a bubble-blowing Caterpillar and beats the Queen of Hearts at her own game!

Session Three: Disney’s Winnie The Pooh Kids

Welcome to the Hundred Acre Wood, where Winnie the Pooh is once again in search of honey. Along the way, he meets his pals, Tigger, Piglet, Rabbit and Owl, but soon discovers that Christopher Robin has been captured by the mysterious Backson! As they prepare for a rescue operation, the animals learn about teamwork, friendship and, of course… sharing snacks.

Session Four: Magic Treehouse: Pirates Past Noon

Magic Tree House: Pirates Past Noon KIDS is an adaptation of the fourth of Mary Pope Osborne’s award-winning fantasy adventure books from the Magic Tree House book series, which has sold more than 100 million copies and is available in more than a hundred countries around the world. This time around, Jack and Annie’s tree house takes them to an exotic island with pirates, where the two discover the power of friendship and the simple pleasures in everyday life. The two siblings return to visit the magic tree house on a dreary, rainy day. They find a book where the sun is shining and the waves are crashing, so they wish to travel to this tropical place. They realize that they are in the eighteenth-century Caribbean, the time of pirates! The siblings meet Captain Bones, a mean old pirate who captures the two and forces them to help him find buried treasure. It’s up to Jack and Annie to find their way back to the tree house and make their way home.
